Relationships are never easy
Some guidelines to make it easier….
- It’s important to be able to communicate with your partner
- Togetherness implies you’re a team; be that in love-making; financial decisions; child-raising etc
- Respect your partner’s individual and unique needs. They’re most likely VERY different to yours
- Share your thoughts and needs; after all he/she is NOT a mind reader (as much as we’d like that!)
- Plan (and schedule) interesting activities to do together
- Don’t smother each other. Space and time apart is good. And healthy.
- Be affectionate
- Be positive, yet realistic
- Make an effort to acknowledge his/her friends; but not if they jeopardise your relationship
- Be generous with your time; your love and your understanding.
