Useful hints & guidelines on how to get the most out of Internet dating.
- Make your own profile dead honest. That way there are fewer nervous twitches before meeting him/her.
- Meet him/her on YOUR terms. Always use your own transport and meet in a public place first time.
- Let someone know where you’ll be and with who. (You're meeting a “stranger” after all.)
- Don't bother to meet anyone who makes you feel anything less than absolutely respected, irrespective of what you’re looking for.
- Go on at least three dates before you decide you like the person.
- People tend to show their true colors after 2 weeks or so. Trust your gut during this phase. During the initial phases molehills can very well turn out to be mountains.
- Possessive behavior after two dates may be indicative of serious insecurity and jealous issues, so take the signs seriously.
- Don't be fooled about a person's financial and career status. Ensure that you're 100% 'in the know' about their status.
- Relax and have fun. Taking the process too seriously and being unrealistic in ones expectations is just silly. Most of the people you meet are potential friends. And who knows, your match could be out there! At worst though, you could end up with two or three new friends!
